Rail Transit Exhibition News Chinese rail transit equipment giant CRRC (CRRC) will hold a factory opening ceremony in Brazil on March 25, 2026 (this Wednesday), officially announcing that its Brazilian production base will be located in Araraquara, an inland city in the state of São Paulo, located in the old production facility of Hyundai Motor Company in South Korea. The ceremony will be attended by Brazilian President Luín Inácio Lula da Silva, as well as Vice President and Minister of Industrial Development Geraldo Alckmin and President of Brazil's National Development Bank (BNDES), Aloizio Mercadante.

The factory's priority: the production of intercity trains
Once the plant is operational, it will give priority to the train manufacturing tasks of the TIC Eixo Norte project. The project aims to connect the cities of São Paulo with the cities of Campinas, where trains can run at speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour and take about 64 minutes, and are expected to be officially put into operation in 2031. The project franchise is held by TIC Trens, a conglomerate formed by Comporte Group, a conglomerate owned by Constantino de Oliveira, founder of Gore Brazil and bus tycoon Constantino de Oliveira, and CRRC Group.
Secondly, a total of 44 trains required for the expansion of São Paulo Metro Line 2 (Green Line) will also be produced by CRRC at the Arara Kwara plant and are expected to be delivered in batches from 2027.

At the ceremony, the Brazilian Development Bank will announce the signing of a rail transit financing contract totaling 5.6 billion reais (about 7.3 billion yuan), the specific allocation is as follows:
Intercity train north axis project (TIC Eixo Norte)
Expansion of São Paulo Metro Line 2
Both projects are included in the Brazilian Federal Government's "New Economy Acceleration Program" (Novo PAC), and the relevant financing plans have been approved in principle by BNDES as early as September 2023.

China-Pakistan cooperation extends to the field of new energy buses
This China-Pakistan cooperation is not limited to rail transit. Viação Piracicabana, a subsidiary of the Comporte Group, has purchased 90 pure electric buses manufactured by CRRC for public transport operations in the Federal Special Administrative Region (Brasilia), and the vehicles are expected to be delivered in May this year.
It is reported that the exterior design of the intercity train adopts a minimalist style, with straight lines and precise cutting as the main elements, with the franchisee's brand color system, emphasizing the sense of speed, mobility and future technology, and striving to create a distinctive modern image in the Brazilian railway map.
