ARTS Rail Transit Exhibition News: On August 11, São Paulo Metro Company received the last train on the Linha 17-Ouro line. The vehicle is manufactured in China by BYD Skyrail and transported by road from the Port of Santos to the Pátio Água Espraiada depot. With this, all 14 monorail trains stipulated in the contract have been fully deployed.

Vehicle Reception: The 5-car train numbered N14 has begun unloading and placed on the rail beam, followed by assembly. After assembly, the train must pass both static and dynamic tests and obtain operational certification before it can officially enter service.

Five special trailers were used for transport from Port Santos to São Paulo, completed in the early morning hours to minimize the impact on road traffic.

With the arrival of the last train, the São Paulo Metro has completed all vehicle reception as stipulated in the contract for the Golden Line 17. However, not all trains have entered commercial service at present. After assembly, commissioning, and testing are completed, each train will be gradually put into service to support increased line capacity.

Train configuration: Each set of the Line 17 Golden Line monorail consists of 5 carriages, with a maximum passenger capacity of 616 passengers. Trains are equipped with through-access passageways, air conditioning, LED lighting, surveillance cameras, fire suppression systems, dynamic maps, and direct communication with the Operations Control Center (CCO).

A major highlight of the vehicle is its battery system, which can continue running for up to 8 kilometers even during power outages. The train also uses UTO driverless train operation technology, enabling fully autonomous operation.

Route details: The Golden Line 17 in São Paulo opened in March this year, with a total length of 6.7 kilometers and 8 stations, connecting Morumbi and Aeroporto de Congonhas Airport, and enabling transfers with Line 5 Purple and Line 9 Emerald.

The monorail line is designed to have a daily capacity of about 100,000 passengers. With all 14 BYD-manufactured monorails in place and gradually completing testing and operation, the full operational capacity of the line is expected to be further unleashed, and the level of regional public transport services will also improve.
