CRRC made in Dalian! Malaysia's ECRL comprehensive inspection train officially debuted

Rail Transit Exhibition News: The Comprehensive Inspection Train (C.I.T.) for the Malaysia East Coast Railway (ECRL) project was recently officially unveiled. This train uses the CR200J rolling stock platform, manufactured by CRRC Dalian, a six-car electric multiple unit with a maximum operating speed of up to 160 km/h.

According to reports, this comprehensive inspection train will be dedicated to inspection and maintenance of the entire 665-kilometer ECRL line, mainly responsible for recording track geometric parameters, checking railway signaling systems, and checking the operating status of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).

Through the above high-precision inspection methods, the comprehensive inspection train can provide technical support for subsequent ECRL operation and maintenance phases, further ensuring line operation safety and operational efficiency. As an important inspection equipment for the Changda Trunk Line railway project, this train will play a role in line condition assessment, system verification, and maintenance management before and after official operation.

To meet the comprehensive inspection needs along the line, C.I.T. trains are equipped with various functional facilities, including a control room for real-time technical monitoring, a meeting room for staff discussion and coordination, and a prayer room. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with dining areas, business class, multimedia rooms, and restrooms to meet the needs of staff during long-distance inspection operations.

Currently, the train has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). In the next phase, trains will undergo System Integration Testing (SIT) and Fault-Free Run (FFR) testing.

The related tests will be conducted under the supervision of the Malaysian Land Public Transport Authority (APAD), focusing on verifying whether the vehicles and related systems meet requirements in terms of safety, operational reliability, and regulatory compliance, preparing the ECRL for its subsequent official commercial operation.

Malaysian Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook recently officially presided over the commissioning ceremony for this comprehensive testing train. As a key railway infrastructure project in Malaysia, the debut of the ECRL inspection and maintenance equipment marks further progress in the operational preparation for the project.
