The partnership was announced at the World Government Summit in Dubai and aims to revolutionize urban mobility. According to a memorandum of understanding signed between the Road and Transportation Authority and The Boring Company, Dubai and Musk will jointly develop the 17-kilometer-long project. With 11 stations and a capacity of more than 20,000 passengers per hour, the project demonstrates Dubai's commitment to advancing new cutting-edge mobility solutions.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al-Ulama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, said the Dubai Ring Road will cover the most densely populated areas of the city and help people move seamlessly underground.

A few hours later, Sheikh Hamdan revealed more details about the underground transportation system on the social media platform, which Musk described as "like a wormhole that can be worn from side to side with a whoosh." Sheikh Hamdan said the project "will revolutionise transport" and that the timeline for the project has not yet been announced.
