Rail Transit ExhibitionNews Ibagué, the capital of Colombia's Tolima province, is actively promoting an ambitious transport infrastructure project - the electric tram project (Tranvía Eléctrico). With the technical support of the Colombian National Government and CRRC (CRRC), the project combines solar drive with advanced intelligent technology and is directly connected to the city's strategic public transport system (SETP).

Project Overview
Led by engineer Pedro Niño and coordinated by the Municipality's Strategic Project Management Office, the project has entered the feasibility study phase with the full participation and support of the Ministry of Transport.
The total investment of the project is expected to be 1.7 trillion Colombian pesos (about 3.1 billion yuan), using private and international financing models. The government believes that this will be one of the most innovative electric mobility projects in the country.
The technology for the project is provided by CRRC, which has extensive international experience in the Metro de Bogotá and Regiotram de Occidente projects.
The CRRC delegation will arrive in Ibagh in the near future to conduct a technical review and site survey. The project covers several main lines:
Avenida Ambalá
Quinta (through the communities of Jordán, Mirolindo, Ferrocarril).
Southern Community Connection Line
Each tram carries 300 passengers and adopts the third rail power supply design, with low noise and low visual interference. It only takes 3 minutes from the Ricaurte neighborhood to the music park, completely rewriting the city's travel map. According to Pedro Niño, the proposal "represents a true alternative to clean mobility", reducing about 28,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year, in addition to creating more than 14,000 direct and indirect jobs and significantly reducing travel time in the capital of Tolyma.Green Technology Highlights (ART)
Solar powered: 100% renewable energy power at all charging stations
Virtual track system: No need to lay steel rails, reducing construction interference to the city
Zero-emission operation: It is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 28,000 tons per year, contributing to Colombia's carbon neutrality goal
Funding and Schedule
The Colombian Ministry of Transport said it will continue to provide full support for the project. The mayor promised"This is not only a means of transportation, but also a symbol of Ibagh's modernization." "Together with CRRC, we will make the music capital the benchmark for electric mobility in Latin America. ”
