Rail Transit Expo News: Recently, the domestically developed Type B metro axle box bearings installed on Tianjin Metro Line 9 officially passed the industry expert group's operational assessment at the Liyuantou Depot of the Tianjin Metro. This review meeting was hosted by the Technical Equipment Professional Committee of the China Urban Rail Transit Association and co-organized by Tianjin Rail Transit Group.

Subway axle box bearings are core safety components of vehicle running systems, and related technologies have long been monopolized by foreign brands. This independent product passing the assessment marks a concrete implementation of the "China Urban Rail Transit National Innovation Urban Rail Development Plan" released in July 2025, and also marks an important progress in the localization of core urban rail components in China.

Tianjin Rail Transit Group, leveraging the complex conditions and heavy passenger flow of Line 9, collaborated with CRRC Sifang, Renben Bearing, and other units to conduct on-site passenger verification on the trains. The technical team has repeatedly visited the front lines of human-centered bearing production, participating in product improvements and technical seminars on production lines, promoting deep collaboration between the industry and operations sides.

At the review meeting, nine experts from urban rail operations, bearing manufacturing, research institutes, and vehicle OEMs conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the product's full-cycle performance from design, manufacturing, bench testing to mainline operation, through on-site inspections and dismantling samples, verification of operational monitoring data, and listening to full-process project reports.

The expert panel ultimately unanimously determined that the core indicators of this independent bearing, including vibration control, sealing performance, and lubrication adaptation, met the assessment requirements.

Passing this assessment validates the feasibility of the innovative path of "policy guidance, scenario empowerment, and industrial collaboration," providing practical support for the localization of core bearings in mainstream domestic subway models.

Going forward, all parties will further optimize products based on review feedback, accelerate the large-scale application of domestically produced axle box bearings, and provide replicable models for independent and controllable urban rail equipment industry chains and the implementation of the national innovation urban rail strategy.
