The first subway 5G-A co-construction and sharing network in China has been deployed!

According to the official introduction of China Radio and Television, Jiangsu Cable and Jiangsu Mobile recently completed the deployment of 5G-A three-carrier aggregation (3 Component Carrier, hereinafter referred to as 3CC) co-construction and sharing network in Suzhou Metro.

This also became the country's first subway 5G-A co-construction and sharing network pilot. The actual measured downlink rate of the current network exceeded 2.7Gbps, significantly improving the overall user experience in the subway scenario.

It is reported that this pilot project was deployed at Suzhou Line 1 Donghuan Road Station, applying 5G-A 3CC networking technology. Based on the 5G 3CC frequency band combination jointly built and shared by China Radio and Television and China Mobile, new quad-band indoor equipment was installed in the subway platform, and the operator codes of China Radio and Television and China Mobile were configured and broadcast at the same time.

According to actual network tests, the peak downlink rates of China Radio and Television and China Mobile networks both exceeded 2.7Gbps, meeting the expected goals of 5G-A networks and providing efficient network support for high-density and high-mobility wireless communication scenarios in subways.

5G-A, also known as 5.5G, is a key stage in the evolution of 5G to 6G. Compared with traditional 5G, 5G-A networks have about 10 times improvement in connection speed, latency, positioning, and reliability.

Its features include peak rates of 10Gbps downlink and 1Gbps uplink, millisecond-level latency, low cost, hundreds of billions of connected things, and space-ground integration (satellite Internet).

Currently, more than 10 terminals including vivo, OPPO, Honor and Xiaomi already support 5G-A networks.
