At 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, the official delivery ceremony of the first two trains of Bogotá Metro Line 1 (L1MB) was held in the factory area of CRRC Changchun Rail Coach Co., Ltd.
The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, gave a live broadcast through social platforms to learn more about the manufacture of the second train. "It's very exciting to see this progress on the project, which is a key milestone in the construction of Metro Line 1 in Bogotá," he said. The first train is about to leave for Bogotá, and the second will follow. The trains are expected to arrive in Bogotá at the end of September this year, when we will start commissioning tests there. ”
Mayor Garland spoke highly of the move, saying that it marked the smooth progress of the implementation plan: "This is a major piece of good news, and it is a key node in the construction of the subway. The current progress is exactly in line with the original plan, which also means that the dream of the people of Bogotá to have a metro for many years is becoming a reality. ”
Leónidas Narváez, general manager of the Bogotá Metro, said that the node also presents new challenges for the metro-related supporting works: "The civil works, the construction of stations, rail lines and depots all need to be accelerated to ensure that these amazing trains arrive and are put into operation." ”
It is understood that the first train will start production in mid-2024 and will last about nine months. During this period, a number of key processes were completed: body structure assembly, painting and interior treatment, equipment integration, etc. These steps are carried out simultaneously on six carriages, which greatly improves efficiency and ensures quality.
After the production of the prototype car is completed, the train enters the test stage, and multiple links such as technical specification verification, static test (no movement) and dynamic test (actual operation) are carried out. In the final 2,500 km test run, the train was run in a simulated environment in manual driving mode to test its overall performance. The entire process is monitored by the technical team.
Javier Descarga, representative of the Bogotá Metro Line 1 Supervision Alliance, said in Changchun: "During the 2,500-kilometer test, we comprehensively tested the train's performance in multiple dimensions such as acceleration, braking, lighting, ventilation, etc., and the test was completed about a week ago. ”
Currently, the first train is preparing to depart from China for Colombia, and the second train has completed all pre-operational tests. At the same time, there are nine trains in the factory that are being manufactured simultaneously.
The train has a total length of 135 meters, a width of not less than 2.90 meters, and a height of 3.90 meters, consisting of four bullet train cars and two trailer cars, with a single passenger capacity of 1,800 people. The average commercial speed of the train is 42.5 km/h, and it will initially run independently in both directions at intervals of 140 seconds. The train is a 100% pure electric system, which has environmental advantages, and is equipped with an advanced CBTC (Communication-based Train Control System) to achieve two-way real-time communication between the train and the track to ensure safe operation.
