According to the Seoul Transportation Corporation and the Gangnam Fire Department, at around 3:42 a.m. on the same day, smoke appeared in the engine compartment battery of the rail maintenance vehicle traveling from Dook Station to Daechi Station on Line 3. After the fire department dispatched the police, the rail inspection vehicle was towed to the Shuixi vehicle base at about 5:48, and the fire extinguishing operation was initially completed at about 6:38 about 3 hours after the fire broke out.

It is reported that the battery that caught fire was a lithium battery. In order to prevent the battery from causing another fire, the fire department removed the battery from the rail inspection vehicle and put it in the sink, and completely extinguished the fire at 8:41 a.m. A total of 140 people and 37 pieces of equipment were invested in the rescue work, and the fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.

Although there were no casualties caused by the fire, the first train of some sections of Line 3 was delayed, causing inconvenience to commuting to office workers.
