CRRC Nanjing Puzhen secures orders for 5 electric multiple units from Tunisia!

According to the ARTS Rail Transit Exhibition, the Tunisian National Railway Company (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens, abbreviated as SNCFT) and CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Vehicle Co., LtdA contract signing ceremony was held in Tunisia, officially procuring five Electric Multiple Units (EMUs).

The project is financed and supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). SNCFT President and General Manager Chakib Rekik and Hu Tuanjie, head of CRRC Nanjing Puzhen International BusinessAttend the signing ceremony and sign the agreement on behalf of both parties. At the signing ceremony, the national flags of both countries were displayed side by side with those of relevant institutions, and representatives from both sides engaged in friendly exchanges and took commemorative photos.

According to the agreement, CRRC will provide SNCFT with five advanced electric multi-unit trains, which will be used to enhance Tunisia's rail passenger services, especially to strengthen intercity and suburban transport capacity in the capital Tunisia and surrounding areas. This project is an important part of SNCFT's railway network upgrade plan, aiming to promote the modernization of Tunisia's railway infrastructure. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as the project financier, provided financial support for the train procurement. Previously, EBRD had approved related loans for comprehensive upgrade projects such as railway line reconstruction, electrification, and new train purchases in Tunisia.

SNCFT stated that this procurement will significantly enhance the safety, reliability, and comfort of railway transport, providing stronger transportation support for Tunisia's economic and social development.
