Rail Transit Expo News: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is accelerating its international expansion. To further expand into the overseas rail transit market and create new revenue streams, DMRC recently established a wholly-owned international business platform—Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), dedicated to overseas project expansion and international business operations.

DMRC stated that this move comes at a critical upgrade phase for the Delhi Metro network, which has entered more than twenty years of operation. As some lines, stations, and equipment gradually enter renewal and renovation cycles, the company needs to raise more funds for infrastructure modernization and mid-term major repairs.
DMRC pointed out that since the Delhi Metro began operations in 2002, some vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure have gradually aged, requiring ongoing investment for updates and modernization.
To reduce reliance on ticketing revenue, DMRC hopes to create new revenue streams by undertaking overseas projects. In the future, international business proceeds will be used to support mid-term renewal and facility upgrades for the Delhi Metro network.
DMRC believes that its extensive experience in operating driverless subways will be a key advantage in international competition.
According to reports, more than 90 kilometers of Delhi Metro lines have now achieved driverless operation. With extensive experience in automated operations, DMRC has become one of the few urban rail transit operators worldwide with mature autonomous subway operation capabilities.
As more cities begin building intelligent rail transit systems, DMRC hopes to leverage this technological advantage to gain more international project opportunities.
