The head of the Madrid Autonomous Region's transportation department stated that this collaboration combines sportsmanship with urban public transport, hoping to further enhance city cohesion and public participation through the World Cup.

Metro de Madrid, established in 1919, is one of the largest urban rail transit systems in Europe and the most important public transport network in Spain's capital. Data shows that in 2025, Madrid's metro annual passenger volume will reach a new historical high, serving over 700 million passengers for the year, a year-on-year increase of about 3%.
