Recently, the project "Research on Energy-Saving Control Models for Train Control Systems," jointly implemented by Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd., its subsidiaries, Chengdu Metro Operation Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Rail Transit Industry Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., successfully passed the expert final review. According to third-party appraisals, after application, the average energy-saving rate of the trains reached 9.52%, with overall technology reaching a leading domestic level.

Train traction energy consumption accounts for 40% of the total electricity consumption of urban rail transitThe above are the main loads of operating energy consumption. For a long time, limited by the "data barriers" between vehicles and signaling systems, existing energy-saving control measures for trains have mostly remained at the single-system level, with insufficient tapping of energy-saving potential through cross-system collaboration. Chengdu Rail Transit Group focuses on this difficult issue, leveraging its strengths in scientific research and scenario applications, and uses the deep integration of signal systems and vehicles as a breakthrough. It has successfully opened up data interaction channels for the two core systems, innovatively built a refined energy-saving control technology system for train traction, braking, and cruising, and introduces a target curve prediction algorithm for train traction to optimize ATO Differentiated energy-saving strategies allow trains to track target curves by adopting the optimal "traction + coasting" mode without passengers feeling the difference, significantly reducing ineffective traction and braking, and greatly improving energy utilization efficiency.

Currently, the core technologies of this series have been successfully applied on all 43 electric passenger trains on Chengdu Metro Line 8 , achieving a complete closed loop from technical design and software development to on-site testing, effect verification, and practical application. After multi-dimensional, long-term real-world testing, the project has achieved remarkable results. After the technology is applied, it is expected to save a total of 6.365 million kWh of electricity throughout the year, directly saving about 3.819 million yuan in electricity costs, and reducing carbon emissions across the entire line annually5000tons, with significant ecological benefits.
