Rail Transit Exhibition News The Bursa Metropolitan Municipal Government recently officially completed the bidding for the procurement project of 20 light rail vehicles of the BursaRay light rail system, aiming to further improve the capacity and service level of Bursa urban rail transit.

According to the report, the tender opened on April 16, 2026, with a total budget of about 4.1 billion Turkish lira. In the end, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. (CRRC Zhuzhou) became the best candidate for the bid with an offer of 2.84 billion Turkish lira. Two companies participated in the entire bidding process, and the subsequent will enter the formal contract signing stage after completing the relevant legal procedures.

According to public information, the 20 light rail vehicles purchased this time will be put into operation of the BursaRay urban rail transit system. After the implementation of the project, it will effectively improve the transportation capacity of the line, optimize the frequency of train operation, and further alleviate the pressure on passenger flow during peak hours.

The local side said that after the new batch of vehicles is put into operation, it will not only help improve the travel comfort of passengers, but also enhance the overall operation efficiency of Bursa's urban public transportation system and provide support for the expansion and modernization of the local rail transit network.
