Rail Transit Exhibition News On March 28, Taipei Metro held a 30th anniversary party at Daan Forest Park Station. Guests from the rail transit industry at home and abroad witnessed this important moment and reviewed the construction achievements and operational milestones of the Taipei MRT.
On the same day, a number of guests from the field of rail transit in Taipei attended the congratulations, including Xie Minghong, director of the Taipei Transportation Bureau, and Zheng Defa, director of the MRT Engineering Bureau. The event also invited a number of industry professionals who have been deeply involved in the field of transportation for a long time, as well as experts and scholars who have participated in the physical examination of the Muzha Line project.
In addition, representatives of Japan's Kintetsu Group, Singapore's SMRT Metro Company, as well as rail transit companies such as New Taipei MRT, Taichung MRT, Kaohsiung MRT, and Taoyuan MRT also attended the event. Over the past 30 years, Taipei Metro has become an important pillar of urban public transportation with the joint efforts of countless builders and operators. At present, the cumulative traffic volume of Taipei MRT has exceeded 14.8 billion.
Zhao Shaolian, chairman of Taipei Metro Corporation, recalled that on March 28, 1996, Taiwan's first unmanned medium-volume system, the Muzha Line, was officially opened to traffic. In the early days of opening, the daily traffic volume of the Muzha Line was only about 40,000 to 50,000 passengers, but now the daily traffic volume on weekdays has increased to about 240,000 passengers, and the daily traffic volume of the entire Taipei MRT system has exceeded 2 million. Over the past 30 years, the Taipei MRT has not only changed the way people commute in the Shuangbei area, but also become an important artery of urban operation, and its operational reliability has maintained an industry-leading position for a long time.
The commemorative event also opened with the release of the sixth-generation uniform. Taipei MRT employees dressed in new uniforms, combined with MRT station music, door opening and closing prompt sounds, and daily maintenance, guidance, passenger service and other work scenes, brought creative performances, showing professionalism and vitality.
