On March 25, local time, Brazilian President Lula attended the landing event of CRRC's Brazilian plant in Araraquara, São Paulo, and witnessed the signing of an urban transportation financing agreement totaling R$5.6 billion. Brazilian Vice President and Minister of Industry and Trade Alcmin, Chief Minister of the Presidential Office Costa, Minister of Cities Jr., Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development President Mercadante and other federal dignitaries, local officials such as Arara Quara Mayor La Pena, Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Zhu Qingqiao, and CRRC Sifang Chairman Ma Lijun attended the event.

The event was held at the location of CRRC's Brazilian factory. The project is in the construction stage and will be put into operation as a rail transit equipment manufacturing base in the future, and production is expected to start in the second half of 2026.

Lula said at the event that Brazil should strengthen cooperation with countries willing to bring advanced technology to promote its industrial development and technological progress by introducing high-end manufacturing projects. He pointed out that the project will not only help improve Brazil's rail transit equipment manufacturing capacity, but also drive job growth and regional economic development.

During the event, Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) signed financing agreements with relevant institutions with a total amount of approximately R$5.6 billion, mainly to support the construction and upgrading of urban rail transit and public transport infrastructure in the state of São Paulo.
It is understood that CRRC's manufacturing base in Brazil will undertake train production and related supporting businesses, serve the needs of rail transit projects in Brazil and the Latin American market, and further deepen cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of infrastructure and high-end equipment manufacturing.
