The first train of Urumqi Metro Line 2 was successfully delivered

Rail Transit Exhibition News On March 8, the first train of the northern section of the first phase of Urumqi Rail Transit Line 2 was officially delivered, and 6 trains arrived in Urumqi.

The train of Wushi Rail Transit Line 2 adopts 6 marshered A-type cars, produced by the Beijing Railway Baoding Intelligent Manufacturing Base, with a maximum running speed of 80 km/h, supporting automatic driving, unmanned automatic turnback, restricted manual driving and other operating modes. The core system of the train has a built-in intelligent perception module, and the train TCN adopts the bus method and redundant structure, and has the function of online fault upload and analysis, and is equipped with on-board firewall, pantograph detection, online monitoring of the running department and other systems to build a solid line of defense for driving safety in an all-round way.

The Baoding Intelligent Manufacturing Base is located in Baoding City, Hebei Province, nearly 3,000 kilometers away from Urumqi, and the transportation delivery has set a new record for the farthest mileage of the vehicle delivery of the base so far.

With the delivery of the first train, the construction of Wushi Rail Transit Line 2 project has entered a key stage of vehicle commissioning and system joint commissioning. In the next step, the relevant units of the project will carry out vehicle static and dynamic debugging and joint commissioning and testing of power supply, track, signal and other systems, strictly control safety and quality, accelerate the follow-up construction tasks, and strive to achieve the initial operation of the northern section on schedule and with high quality.

The construction of Urumqi Rail Transit Line 2 was launched in 2016, starting from Yan'an Road Station in the south to Huashan Street Station in the north, with a total length of 19.35 kilometers, and was divided into two sections: north and south. Among them, the northern section of the first phase has a total length of 13.94 kilometers, all of which are underground lines, with a total of 10 stations, including 3 transfer stations. The total length of the track is 32.57 kilometers, a total of 13 sets of various types of turnouts are laid, and 21.57 kilometers of evacuation platforms are installed.

On February 10 this year, the Urumqi Municipal People's Government issued the "Announcement on the Release of Ten Practical Matters for People's Livelihood in Urumqi in 2026", of which the fourth article "smooth and convenient transportation" clearly stated that it will promote the opening and operation of the northern section of rail transit line 2.
