Digital foundation upgrade - Beijing Metro's demonstration application of the Internet of Things sys

Rail Transit Exhibition News Recently, the Internet of Things system developed based on fully independent and controllable technology successfully completed the demonstration application at East Fourth Station and Dongdaqiao Station of Beijing Metro Line 6. The successful implementation of the project marks the industry's first Internet of Things system based on domestic chips, independent controllable operating systems (Rail Cloud) and domestic databases (IoTDB) to achieve independent research and development and application of full-stack technology. The system successfully overcomes the problem of technical "bottleneck" in the field of perception reinforcement, and builds a complete ecosystem covering the collection, sharing and application of device perception data by building a unified and open digital base for the Internet of Things.

For a long time, most of the existing perception systems are built independently, with different technical architectures and technical routes, different regulations for sensing data collection, high implementation costs for perception reinforcement transformation, and large workload for data standardization governance. To this end, Beijing Metro has carried out the research and development of Internet of Things system technology, aiming to adopt the strategy of downward compatibility and upward unification, compatible with most collection terminals and transmission protocols in the industry, and achieve unified hardware configuration, unified operating system, unified transmission protocol, and unified data format, which effectively solves the problem of perception data collection and management in the process of promoting the construction of smart subway.

The Internet of Things system realizes the visualization of equipment status by obtaining millisecond-level operation data of equipment in real time, and the status data is well-documented, accurately measuring the operating status of wind, water and electricity equipment at the station throughout the whole process, monitoring and alarming 7*24 hours, combined with the early warning mechanism of abnormal indicators, the system provides key technical support for the transformation from the traditional "planned repair" and "fault repair" to the "status repair" mode. At the same time, the perception data pool built based on the object model standard not only realizes the classification and management of perception data, but also lays a solid data resource foundation for the subsequent big data analysis of equipment status and the application of artificial intelligence technology.

In the pilot application of Beijing Metro Line 6 East Fourth Station and Dongdaqiao Station, the Internet of Things system reinforces and upgrades the perception points of the electromechanical and power supply specialties of the two stations by installing sensors and computing acquisition units on the basis of the perception capabilities of the existing production system. At present, the system has been connected to 122 devices at two stations, covering 3,310 perception points. Relying on the visual configuration function, the system can realize remote inspection support for electromechanical and power supply equipment, and can replace the traditional manual meter inspection from the technical level, effectively improving the efficiency of inspection operations and reducing the labor intensity of front-line personnel.

Since the second half of 2025, Beijing Metro Electromechanical Branch and Power Supply Branch have successively carried out the renewal and transformation project of the perception system to connect the Internet of Things system, relying on the Internet of Things system to further promote the construction of perception reinforcement. Among them, the power supply major has started the access work of a total of 446 equipment and 8,716 perception points at 13 stations on Line 1 and Line 2; The mechanical and electrical major has successively upgraded and accessed 1,816 perception points of 194 fans on Line 5 and Line 6 to achieve multi-dimensional and all-round status perception of equipment.

In the next step, Beijing Metro will continue to promote the Internet of Things system, gradually expand from key lines to the whole road network, gradually promote the full access and deep integration of station equipment perception, environment and other multi-source perception data, strengthen the independent perception data base, build a healthy and sustainable technical ecology, and provide strong support for the efficient application and iterative upgrading of Beijing Metro's intelligent operation and maintenance system.
