According to news from the Rail Transit Exhibition , the first self-managed overhaul of the 11A03 type train (carriage 1177) of Shanghai Metro Line 11 has successfully completed all maintenance and debugging processes and passed the acceptance test, and has officially been put into operation.

In advancing the autonomous overhaul of the 11A03 train, the maintenance department's autonomous overhaul project team, guided by the concept of full life-cycle management, innovatively constructed a closed-loop management system covering the entire chain of "requirements collection - solution planning - process design - implementation - acceptance and delivery," thereby achieving standardized and regulated progress in the autonomous overhaul work.
Following the requirements of the "Trial Repair Management Regulations (Trial Implementation)," the team conducted component-level trial disassembly and assembly verification in advance, and simultaneously completed the compilation of 78 process documents and supporting record sheets. They also compiled a material requirement list covering nearly 3,000 items (including component repairs), and steadily promoted the procurement and preparation of materials, special tools and equipment, providing comprehensive technical and material support for the smooth implementation of the overhaul.

To optimize workflows and improve maintenance efficiency, the project team adhered to the principle of "benchmarking against advanced practices and lean optimization." Early on, key team members conducted research at the CRRC Shentong 11A01 train overhaul site, systematically learning from mature overhaul processes, procedure control, and quality assurance experience. They explored and introduced the Yamazumi lean analysis method to accurately time, scientifically break down, and optimize the arrangement of sub-processes in each overhaul module, effectively shortening the overall project cycle, improving time utilization and work balance, and constructing a highly efficient overhaul workflow tailored to the characteristics of the 11A03 train.

Quality control is the core lifeline of independent overhaul work. The team uses the 22163 management system as its core framework, tailoring a quality assurance plan for independent overhauls, and refining specific quality control rules for independent overhauls, constructing a quality control system that "covers the entire process, controls all elements, and traces all stages." The quality team is deeply involved in key aspects such as trial repairs, outsourced supplier briefings, on-site component status confirmation, process feasibility assessments, and quality inspection time verification, comprehensively ensuring that the quality of overhauled trains meets operational standards.

The successful commissioning of the first 11A03-type self-managed overhaul train signifies that Shanghai Metro has firmly grasped the core capabilities of vehicle operation and maintenance, significantly enhancing its core competitiveness in the field of independent operation and maintenance of urban rail transit vehicles.
