The Consul General in Lahore attended the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the safe operation

On October 31, 2025, Consul General Zhao Shiren in Lahore was invited to attend the fifth anniversary celebration of the safe operation of the Orange Line of the Lahore Metro and delivered a speech. More than 300 representatives from all walks of life attended the event, including Tan Zidong, CEO of the Orange Line project, Punjab Transport Minister Bilar, General Manager of Public Transport Authority Zubel, and representatives from all walks of life.

Consul General Zhao said that the Orange Line Metro, as an early harvest project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, demonstrates the deep friendship and close cooperation between the two peoples. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the 15th Five-Year Plan will provide new opportunities for Pakistan, and the two sides will continue to expand high-level pragmatic cooperation in smart transportation and green development.

Since its opening in 2020, the Lahore Metro Orange Line has safely operated more than 65 million train kilometers, with a passenger volume of more than 270 million, setting a number of records for rail transit in Pakistan.
