According to the rail transit exhibition, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari took a high-speed train from Chengdu to Mianyang on Sunday, which took only about half an hour.
According to a press release issued by the Information Bureau of the Presidential Palace, during the train journey, the President listened to a briefing on the operation, service, safety system and environmental advantages of the high-speed rail.
Accompanying him on the trip were Pakistani Ambassador to China Hashmi, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong (who accompanied the president throughout the visit) and Senator Mandeviwala.
President Zardari highly appreciated China's achievements in sustainable and resilient transportation, especially pollution-free electric drives and earthquake warning technology, calling it a miracle of railway engineering. He noted that these innovations have provided valuable experience for other countries, including Pakistan.
China has built the world's largest high-speed rail network, with a total mileage of more than 45,000 kilometers and more than 2 billion passengers per year. The high-speed rail line with a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour covers almost all major cities in China, forming a standardized passenger dedicated line system and becoming a model of modern connectivity.
