The first in China! The axle box built-in bogie electric bus was officially launched

On the morning of September 15, the first domestic bogie electric bus with built-in axle box jointly developed by CRRC and Ningbo Rail Transit Group was officially put into operation. This vehicle product is a major breakthrough in the field of urban rail vehicle manufacturing in China, which is expected to bring historic changes to the safe, green and efficient development of urban rail transit, and is also a vivid case of the practice of "resource integration, innovation-driven, promotion of transformation, and service to society" of a new generation of urban rail transit vehicle products.

In August 2023, the first domestic axle box built-in bogie subway project train developed by CRRC and Ningbo Rail Transit Group rolled off the production line at Ningbo CRRC Rail Transit Equipment Co., Ltd. Subsequently, the train was sent to the Ningbo depot for application research.

In order to ensure the normal operation of the existing trains on the line, the joint research project team carried out tests within 3 to 4 hours of the line shutdown, overcame difficulties such as insufficient light at night and increased operation difficulty, refined each test point to specific operation steps, integrated multiple technical teams to cross-operation, and carried out regular and research tests on the main line to ensure accurate time and clear tasks.

After more than one year of trial operation, the axle box built-in bogie electric bus has been running for more than 16,000 kilometers. Judging from the test results, compared with the axlebox external bogie subway train on the same line, the dynamic performance of the train has been improved, the stability index has reached the excellent level specified in the standard, the traction braking performance is higher, the energy consumption and noise are lower, and the life of key components can be extended and the maintenance equipment of the depot can be universal.
