CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. (CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive) successfully won the bid for the AIFA-Pachuca railway passenger train project in Mexico , will be responsible for the construction of 15 passenger trains, and undertake the commissioning, maintenance and installation of workshop equipment, with a total contract amount of 5.846 billion pesos.
Mexico's Federal Rail Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) announced the results of the tender on the evening of September 11. The results were released a day later than originally scheduled, and CRRC's bid plan was finally chosen, saving about 4 billion pesos compared to the competitor's plan.
In this bid, the proposal proposed by CAF Mexico in Spain for a total of 9.891 billion pesos was not adopted, while Alstom withdrew early during the bidding process.
According to the project tender documents, the train and line system will be equipped with:
Communication systems: radio communications, fiber optic backbone, passenger information systems, signaling and ticketing systems, as well as remote monitoring and WiFi at stations.
Vehicle safety performance: The train has excellent anti-collision performance, and the driver's cab and passenger area can effectively absorb energy to avoid serious deformation; Equipped with obstacle prevention devices ("obstacle mitigators") to reduce the risk of derailment.
Internal Facilities:
LED lighting (three modes: regular operation, emergency and cleaning);
fire detection devices for the whole vehicle (driver's cab, passenger compartment and various functional areas);
The seat is designed to be comfortable, durable, and vandal-resistant, with headrests and armrests.
The carriages are connected through the passage;
All doors are equipped with an emergency alarm with mechanical interlocking.
After the completion of the project, it is expected to transport 108,000 passengers per day, with a one-way running time of about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The AIFA–Pachuca Railway is an important part of the Mexico City–Pachuca main line (Buenavista–Pachuca), with a total length of approximately 96 kilometers:
Starting point: Buenavista, Mexico City.
Shared line: The section to Lechería runs in line with the existing Buena Vista-Cuotitlan suburban railway.
New section: from the Leceria branch, it will be built to AIFA (Felipe Angeles International Airport) and then to Pachuca.
Future extension: The Leceria–Cuotitlan section is also planned to connect with new services in the direction of Querétaro
