ARTS Rail Transit Exhibition News On August 12, Thailand's Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA) Director Kazapayong revealed that MRTA is planning to expand the subway network, build a feeder system connecting existing subway lines, and ensure that it complies with the "20 baht fare for the whole line" policy, and is expected to complete the project detail study by the end of the year. It will then be submitted to the Ministry of Transport and the Cabinet for deliberation, and if approved, the tender for the first project, the Brown Line, will be launched by the end of 2026.

Kazapayung further said that previously, MRTA received 3 metro projects from the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA), including the Gray Line, Silver Line, and Light Blue Line. However, the BMA has only completed a partial feasibility study for these projects, and the MRTA needs to re-evaluate to suit the current situation. At present, the gray line has completed a detailed study and environmental impact assessment (EIA) and has been approved, while the EIA of the silver line has not yet been approved, and it is expected to complete the re-evaluation of these two projects in 2027, after which it will be submitted to the cabinet for consideration and tendering will be launched. As for the light blue line, as the BMA has not yet initiated a detailed study, the MRTA will proceed gradually after the completion of the feasibility study for the gray and silver lines.

It is reported that the total investment of the 4 new metro line projects exceeds 128 billion baht, as follows:

1. Brown Line: Khae Rai to Lam Sali (Bueng Kum) section, with a total length of 22.1 kilometers, 20 stations, and an investment of about 41.721 billion baht;

2. Gray line: Watcharapol to Thong Lo section, with a total length of 16.25 kilometers, 15 stations, an investment of about 27.853 billion baht;

3. Silver line: Bang Na to Suvarna, with a total length of 18.3 kilometers, 14 stations, and an investment of about 43.927 billion baht;

4. Light Blue Line: Din Daeng to Sathorn section, with a total length of 6.7 kilometers, 9 stations, and an investment of about 14.731 billion baht.
