CRRC recently delivered a batch of passenger and freight vehicles to the Kamsar–Sangarédi standard gauge railway in Guinea, marking the imminent resumption of passenger services after a six-year suspension in the country, while significantly improving the efficiency of bauxite transportation. Further promote the national economic development with mining as the core.
The vehicles delivered by CRRC include: 10 funnel batching trucks, 10 container flat trucks, 4 buses and 1 luggage cart, serving the 135-kilometer-long Kansar-Sangaredi route. The line is a key mineral logistics corridor in Guinea, and the vehicle investment will significantly improve rail freight efficiency and restore passenger services.
It is reported that the batch of vehicles with a total value of about US$4.2 million was purchased by the Guinean Bauxite Company (CBG) and supported by the Guinean National Mining Infrastructure Development Agency (ANAIM) and related operators. This action also demonstrates the Guinean government's determination to accelerate the modernization of transportation infrastructure.
This is not the first time CRRC has participated in the Guinean railway project. As early as 2021-2022, CRRC delivered 17 locomotives, including DF8B (CDD5B1), CDA5A1 and CDA5C1, as well as 500 open cars with a load of 80 tons, to the Santou-Dapilon mining railway operated by the SMB-Winning alliance.
Currently, Guinea is building the 625-kilometer-long Trans-Guinean Railway, which is an important strategic channel for Guinea to the global mineral export market. Wabtec of the United States provided ES43ACmi locomotives for this line, produced in India. This also reflects Guinea's attitude of actively seeking global cooperation in railway development.
The new car delivered by CRRC will effectively shorten the travel time of passengers and mineral transportation and improve logistics efficiency. The resumption of passenger transport services will also improve the travel conditions of residents and help the coordinated development of regional social and economic development. As a key country in the global bauxite supply chain, Guinea is further strengthening its international competitiveness through transportation modernization.
