This is the first time that a Chinese company has entered the Algerian metro sector as a general contractor.
More than 300 people attended the event, including Algerian Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Rahdor Rakhruh, Minister of Transport, Saeed Sayudi, Minister of Higher Education, Kamal Bidali, Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Dong Guangli, and relevant officials of the Algiers Provincial Government, Algiers Metro Company, Algerian National Railways, Algerian Highway Authority, and North African Regional Company.

The project is owned by the Algiers Metro Company and is jointly implemented by a consortium led by China Railway Construction and local state-owned enterprises.
