According to the Rail Transit Exhibition, ViaQuatro (a member of the Motiva Group), the operator of the São Paulo Metro Line 4 (yellow line), is moving forward Procurement of new trains from CRRCof the plan. The purchase comes on the heels of the company's previous purchase of 29 trains from South Korea's Hyundai Rotem.
It is reported that the six new trains to be purchased this time will be used for the future extension of Metro Line 4 from Vila Sônia station to Taboão da Serra stationof line extensions. At present, the company has received a construction permit from CETESB, a Brazilian environmental technology company, and the construction of this will start soon.
The purchase also marks a significant shift in the group's choice of train suppliers. Previously, the group had purchased about 36 trains from Alstom in France for the Diamond Line 8 and Emerald Line 9 it operated.
At the moment, the exact delivery time of the new car has not been announced, and it has not yet been confirmed whether the trains will be manufactured locally in Brazil. If the deal is finalized, ViaQuatro will be the second local operator to purchase trains from CRRC, after the São Paulo Metro Company, which has already purchased 44 CRRC trains.
According to reports, ViaQuatro has completed the relevant bidding process, and the relevant subsidiary of CRRC has provided the most competitive offer, which stood out in the bid evaluation.
