On June 5, 2025, the Operation Management Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association organized an expert demonstration meeting on the technical scheme of Chongqing Monorail Line 2 signal system renewal and transformation joint commissioning and operation back-cutting in Chongqing.
Zhong Jianhua, vice president of China Urban Rail Transit Association and executive director of the Expert Academic Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, Diao Jingli of the Rail Department of Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission, Xue Shengchao, deputy general manager of Chongqing Rail Group, Chongqing Rail Design and Research Institute, Beijing Urban Construction Design and Development Group, Zhejiang Zhonghe, and relevant leaders and representatives of China Railway Electrification Bureau attended the meeting.
The project unit reported in detail the renovation and transformation of the straddle monorail signal system and the backcut plan for joint commissioning and operation. The project adopts the implementation strategy of step-by-step implementation and step-by-step verification, realizes the CBTC system function compatible with ATP/TD on-board functions, and loads cross-standard on-board equipment to support the operation of the whole train. In the transformation work, the straddle monorail signal system has accumulated scientific and technological innovation technologies such as automatic unmanned driving, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, etc., so as to lay the foundation for interconnection with straddle monorail line 3 in terms of unified standards, construction and transformation, and joint debugging and testing.
The project team completed the scientific research project of "Research on the Autonomous Operation Control System of a New Generation of Trains" of the Chongqing Municipal Construction Committee, and the relevant results formed CBTC to TACSCombined with the operation and development of the line network and the characteristics of passenger flow, flexible marshalling and collaborative formation innovation, the core technology research and application are completed, and the accurate matching of passenger flow and transportation capacity, energy saving and consumption reduction, reducing operating costs and improving passenger travel efficiency, and promoting the high-quality development and service level of monorail. The first straddle monorail system test and verification was completed in Chongqing Rail Transit Line 2, with a clear goal of innovation and excellence, and accumulated practical experience for subsequent applications and domestic upgrades of the same type of system.
This project follows the "Guiding Opinions on the Reconstruction of Existing Lines of China's Urban Rail Transit" issued by the China Urban Rail Transit Association, which is in line with the policy of the State Council to promote large-scale equipment renewal, marking the first time in China to carry out the operation of the straddle monorail signal system without inductive transformation project, strictly control the implementation risk and solve the technical problems. Based on the needs of the project unit, the Operation Management Professional Committee organizes experts to provide continuous technical consultation support in the early stage of the project in the formulation of the overall plan for operation and transformation, construction and commissioning and trial operation.
