On May 26, 2025, the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) and CRRC Changchun Rail Coach Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CRRC Changchun Passenger Car") held a grand ceremony at the San Marcos Cultural Center and officially signed a historic memorandum of understanding. This partnership marks an important step in the development of railways in Peru. CRRC Changke has expressed its strong interest in participating in major projects such as Lima Metro Lines 3 and 4 and the Lima-Ica railway network, relying on its rich international experience to inject new impetus into Peru's transportation infrastructure.
Signing ceremony: The two sides work together to create a better future

The company has operations in 116 countries around the world, with a cumulative delivery of more than 10 million railway vehicles and total sales of more than 160 billion US dollars.
Three core directions of cooperation
The MoU revolves around three core directions:
Establish an expert platform: The two parties will form a team of experts to jointly develop project plans and research programs to meet the needs of regional economic development and social growth.
Talent training and curriculum system construction: The cooperation will focus on railway engineering, vehicle maintenance and intelligent operation, develop professional courses and training systems, and cultivate high-quality railway technical talents.
Establishment of CRRC Scholarship Program: CRRC Changke will set up the "CRRC Excellence Education Scholarship Program" to encourage students to pursue further studies in professional fields such as transportation planning and vehicle engineering to improve their academic standards.
University of San Marcos: a bridge between China and Peru
