Chilean Minister of Transport Juan Carlos Muñoz visited CRRC's Qingdao Sifang Factory

As part of President Gabriel Boric's trip to Asia, the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, led a delegation to visit the CRRC Sifang factory in Qingdao with the aim of learning about the manufacturing process of the new train that will arrive in Chile.

During his visit, Minister Muñoz praised the advanced technology of CRRC Sifang and said that the trains, equipped with cutting-edge technology, will improve rail transport services in the metropolitan area and in the Araucanía, Biobío and Valparaiso regions.

The Minister of Transport witnessed the assembly of the vehicle and the installation of technical systems to ensure its proper operation. "The trains that are being built here will run on tracks in central and southern Chile, expect them to do well," he said.

The Minister also announced that trains to the Valparaiso region will begin to travel to Chile at the end of the year, thus strengthening the Limace-Puerto Rico service.
