On March 28, the first domestic railway catenary intelligent maintenance robot platform led by the National Energy Group Shuohuang Railway Company and led by the Electrification Institute of China Railway Sixth Institute was put into trial operation in Suning, Hebei Province. The platform is the first intelligent operation and maintenance equipment in the field of electrified railway catenary in China to realize the closed-loop of the whole chain of "intelligent diagnosis-independent decision-making-precise operation", which fills the gap in the field of robot operation and maintenance of electrified railway catenary in China, and is of great significance to promote the intelligence and digitalization of China's heavy-haul railway operation and maintenance mode.

As the "energy artery" of the electric locomotive, the catenary system undertakes the key function of continuously supplying power to the train, and its state directly affects the safety of railway transportation. Traditional manual maintenance has long faced the problem of "three highs" - high risk of aerial work, high blind spot of manual inspection, and high cost of experience dependence. The intelligent maintenance robot platform launched this time takes the six-degree-of-freedom robot group as the core, integrates key technologies such as 3D digital twin, intelligent identification, and control AI, and builds a catenary intelligent maintenance system of "independent identification of defects, intelligent formulation of maintenance strategies, and millimeter-level accurate maintenance". Three technological breakthroughs lead the industry change.

Intelligent diagnosis is accurate

Through the fusion of high-precision vision sensors and AI algorithms, the accuracy of typical defect recognition is increased to more than 90%, and millimeter-level defect positioning is realized

Fewer people working autonomously

Intelligent security management and control

Equipped with visual monitoring and digital twin system, it can build three-dimensional operation scenarios in real time, avoid the visual blind spots of traditional manual maintenance, and reduce the risk of safety accidents such as falling from heights and arc burns by 90%.

In the process of project research and development, as the technical lead unit, the Institute of Electrification organized and cooperated with a number of units to carry out difficult technical research, and innovatively proposed to introduce digital intelligence technology into catenary operation and maintenance operations, form an intelligent operation and maintenance system for railway electrification, and solve the technical system of promoting the industryTransform from "human experience-driven" to "digital standards-driven".

At the same time, it deeply summarized forward-looking technologies such as artificial intelligence, visual servo, and pattern recognition, gave full play to the advantages of system integration and collaborative innovation, built a three-in-one project management system of "technical assembly-professional collaboration-process control", and conscientiously organized participating units to complete 41 technical interface docking to solve the problem of interdisciplinary coupling23, which took 3 years to overcome "millimeter-level alignment of high-altitude bolts" and "multi-fixture dynamic obstacle avoidance".6 core technologies, build a complete technical system covering perception, decision-making, and execution, and smoothly promote the trial operation of the platformThe Yellow Railway has completed 12 maintenance operations on the catenary network, increasing the efficiency of a single operation by 1 time, and the maintenance pass rate has reached 100%.
