On March 6, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Management Committee and led by the Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Rail Transit Design and Research Institute, the unveiling ceremony of the "Rail Transit Vehicle Base and Superstructure Comprehensive Development Engineering Technology Innovation Center" was held.

Based on the development requirements and trends of the new era, the meeting explored and planned the innovation and sustainable development of the engineering technology of the rail transit vehicle base and the superstructure in the next stage of Shanghai. Liu Qianwei, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Management Commission, Yuan Wenping, Director of Science and Technology Information Department, Peng Bo, Director of Comprehensive Planning Department, Yang Tao, Director of Urban Renewal Department, and Gao Hongyu, Director of Science and Technology Commission Affairs Center, were invited to attend. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Chen Hong, chief engineer and vice president of the Tunnel Institute, Shi Zheng, director of the Innovation Center, chairman of the board of directors and president of the Tunnel Institute, made a welcome speech, and Yang Lei, vice president of the Comprehensive Development Branch of the Tunnel Institute, made a report on the construction plan of the center. The center focuses on the extraction of key technologies, technological innovation, and technology application for the comprehensive development of rail transit vehicle bases and superstructures, and jointly carries out forward-looking discussions to provide support for the landing research and high-quality development of the follow-up platform. Liu Qianwei, chief engineer of the Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Shen Weiqiang, chief engineer of Shentong Metro Group, jointly unveiled the center.

Guided by the national medium and long-term science and technology development strategy, the Engineering Technology Innovation Center for the Comprehensive Development of Rail Transit Vehicle Base and Superstructure focuses on the key technologies and applications in the field of rail transit vehicle base and superstructure development, and focuses on exploring the four dimensions, 7 directions and 12 tasks of the rail transit vehicle base and superstructure engineering. The center is led by the Tunnel Institute and jointly built by Tongji University, Shanghai Metro Asset Investment Management Co., Ltd., Shanghai Construction Engineering Second Construction Group Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Bokun Information Technology Co., Ltd. In the future, it will make positive contributions to further promoting the efficient use and high-quality development of urban space.
