Recently, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project has made significant progress, and the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has revealed a series of exciting news. According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) may provide financial support for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
On November 12, First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbi Omarov met with a delegation led by the head of EBRD's Eurasian infrastructure, Ekaterina Miroshnik, to discuss the implementation of joint projects.
The two sides exchanged views on the possibility of financing the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport and EBRD discussed the ongoing project for the procurement of electric buses in Samarkand: the first phase has already delivered new buses, and the second phase plans to purchase another 250 buses next year. The parties also discussed the possibility of extending the project to Namangan and Nukus.
