Ma Gang, general manager of Xi'an Rail Transit Group, introduced that in order to actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, in 2019, Xi'an Metro and China Harbor Bidding Joint Venture successfully won the bid for Bogotá Metro Line 1 in Colombia, which is the first urban rail transit construction, operation and maintenance project in the Americas participated by Chinese enterprises, and it is also the largest single rail transit project obtained through international bidding; It is the first metro line in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. It has realized the first overseas attempt of Xi'an Metro operation management and technical experience dual output. With a total length of 23.96 kilometers and 16 elevated stations, the line will adopt driverless mode and is scheduled to open to traffic in 2028.

In September 2023, the first batch of 10 overseas trainees from the Bogotá Metro Line 1 Project Company came to Xi'an to start a one-year study of rail transit. After delivering an enthusiastic speech by the Colombian ambassador to China, Sergio Cabrera, who had traveled from Beijing to attend the graduation ceremony, he and the graduates presented a calligraphy work of "Friendship Lasts Forever" written in Chinese to Xi'an Metro.

At the graduation ceremony, the second batch of 40 overseas trainees of Metro Line 1 in Bogotá, Colombia officially opened, and they will start a new phase of subway operation and maintenance management training.
