On November 10, local time, the Hasihebi Sleeper Plant in Tindouf Province, the Western Railway Mining Line Project of China Railway Construction Algeria, was officially put into operation, marking the full launch of the track project of the railway project. This is also the first time that a sleeper solution designed by a Chinese company has been used in a local heavy-haul railway project.

Xu Huaxiang said that it is a great honor for CRCC to participate in the construction of the Western Algerian Railway Mining Line Project and contribute to the economic and social development of the western region. CRCC will carefully organize and go all out to ensure that the project is completed on time and with high quality, and create a model of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between China and Argentina. Mustafa Dahu expressed his gratitude to CRCC and its local participants for their joint efforts and joint investment of resources, and satisfactory results have been achieved in the quality and progress of the project, and that Tindouf Province will also strongly support the construction of the project to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Mustafa Dahu and his entourage also inspected the construction of some bidding sections of the project and praised the construction achievements.
The railway project is an important project of the Belt and Road Initiative jointly built by China and Argentina, and is the largest single project undertaken by a Chinese enterprise in Afghanistan in recent years. The main construction of the desert heavy-haul railway is a new 575-kilometer railway connecting the Algerian province of Beshal and the Gara Jebilet iron ore mine in the province of Tindouf, which is jointly implemented by China Railway Construction and the local Algerian state-owned enterprise COSIDER TP. After the completion of the project, it will further improve Algeria's national railway network, realize the connection of mining areas, industrial areas and ports, and promote the connectivity and economic development of Algeria's southwestern provinces.
Hasihibi Sleeper Factory The sleeper plant is the first standardized railway concrete sleeper plant in the Sahara Desert region of a Chinese enterprise. The plant covers an area of 91,000 square meters, undertakes the task of prefabricated supply of 1.2 million sleepers for the project, and is equipped with two automatic annular sleeper production lines, with a daily production capacity of 1,500 single-line double-shift and 3,000 double-shift per day. In the process of sleeper design, the project team took measures such as slimming the waist in the pillow and reserving sand drainage holes to improve the stability and durability of the track, ensure the safety and service life of the railway, and reduce maintenance costs. "In less than two months, under the careful guidance of Chinese engineers, I have grown from a newcomer to a 'veteran', and I can accurately answer all kinds of technical questions raised by the project supervisor." At present, the sleeper factory has 152 local employees, and the project carries out training in skills and safety on a regular basis, and organizes the selection of outstanding Arab employees. One of them is Budali Nurddin, a test engineer at the Algerian sleeper plant. He said that although he has not been with CRCC for a long time, with the help of his Chinese partners, he has learned about the characteristics of relevant building materials, improved his equipment operation ability, and realized his professional value. Sleeper demoulding The sleeper factory is located in the Sahara Desert region, and the project team actively responded to the difficulties of frequent local high temperature and sandstorms, lack of goods, long cross-border transportation cycle of related equipment, and differences in technical standards. In order to actively promote the integration of technical standards between China and Argentina, Chinese builders take the initiative to adapt to the local European standard system, carry out research on key track technologies according to technical characteristics, and integrate China's heavy-haul railway track bed structure standards and domestic rail products into the technical conditions of the project, which will form a complete set of heavy-haul railway track technology system, drive Chinese manufacturing overseas, and promote the integration of heavy-haul railway standards between China and Argentina.
