On September 30, Hunan Rail Transit Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Changsha Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. jointly issued the "Interim Regulations on the Design of Rapid Maglev Transportation" enterprise standard. The standard is presided over by the Hunan Provincial Maglev Transportation Industry Development Work Group, and jointly compiled by Hunan Rail Group and well-known universities and key enterprises in the field of maglev transportation across the country to coordinate and guide the high-quality development of the rapid maglev transportation industry in Hunan Province, and will be officially implemented from October 1, 2024.

In recent years, maglev transportation technology has attracted much attention due to its characteristics of intelligence, greenness, integration, and strong scene adaptability. In order to accelerate the cultivation of maglev transportation into an important new growth point of Hunan Province's modern industrial system, Hunan is vigorously promoting the engineering application of rapid maglev transportation in urban rail, urban (suburban) railway, tourism and other scenarios. Under the new situation of continuous enrichment of application scenarios and accelerated iteration of technology, the implementation of this standard will guide rapid maglev transportation to establish a high-quality development concept, enhance the positive demonstration social effect, and coordinate the relationship between engineering construction and high-quality industrial development.

The standard is based on the current national and industry standards, the improvement and promotion of the relevant local standards in Hunan Province, divided into 17 chapters, such as general principles, terms and definitions, basic provisions, passenger flow, lines, tracks, vehicles, vehicle bases, buildings, civil structures, power supply, signals, communications, comprehensive monitoring, automatic fare collection, conventional mechanical and electrical systems, and investment control. In the process of compiling, the experience of maglev project construction at home and abroad was summarized and absorbed, benchmarking relevant international standards, learning from other standard technical standards, and ensuring that the maglev project will be "safe, reliable, green and environmentally friendly, economical and efficient, advanced and intelligent" through strong technical terms.

After a period of trial implementation, the standard will be improved and revised in a timely manner in combination with the specific conditions of follow-up engineering application and technology research and development, and recommended as local standards and industry standards, so as to further enhance the economic, social, quality and ecological benefits of the maglev transportation industry, and accelerate the continuous cultivation of maglev transportation innovation achievements to form new quality productivity.
