The first in the province! Kunming Metro launched a drone inspection system

In the early morning of August 12, with the safe landing of two UAVs in the tunnel of the Kunming Metro under construction and the high pier bridge section of the operating line, it marked the successful completion of the first UAV inspection application scenario verification flight test in the province by Kunming Rail Group. The flight test was completed without mobile phone signal and satellite positioning and navigation, and the whole process lasted nearly 50 minutes, and the inspection line was nearly 10 kilometers.

In the past, when the maintenance personnel inspected the line, the interval tunnel was carried out by walking + visual, and the viaduct also had to use special ladder trucks, engineering vehicles and other large equipment, from finding defects to taking pictures and recordings, and then to problem labeling, filling in reports, etc., the whole process was complex and there were many problems such as parts that could not be seen by the human eye, and the reasons were difficult to identify. Limited by the limitation of the "skylight point" of work, each staff member can only inspect 5-6 kilometers of lines per day, which seriously restricts the efficient development of related work.

In the face of problems, Kunming Railway Group organized relevant units to set up a technical research team to carry out engineering algorithm research and development and system application research. In view of the actual situation of complex obstacles of tunnel components and complex viaduct environment, technical research was carried out, and the test flight was successfully completed, and real-time high-definition images and high-precision three-dimensional modeling were accurately obtained.

In the absence of mobile phone signals and satellite signals for navigation and positioning, the UAV flies autonomously and avoids obstacles according to the planned route, and conducts real-time three-dimensional environmental scanning and perception and photography on the operation site, and reconstructs the 3D dynamic model in real time. Through the actual flight inspection and verification test in the real environment of subway tunnels and elevated highways, the working ability of autonomous UAVs in real environments is tested in detail, including autonomy, obstacle avoidance flight, positioning accuracy, accuracy of data collection, and adaptability and reliability under the above environmental conditions.

Compared with manual inspection, UAV aerial inspection has many advantages such as fast speed and strong mobility, and can independently perform inspection tasks, self-service obstacle bypass flight, three-dimensional reconstruction image and high-definition image backhaul to make up for the possible blind spots of manual inspection. Through real-time analysis of images and videos, the efficiency and quality of inspection are improved, and the technological innovation and management optimization of subway inspection work are realized while reducing costs, so as to improve the overall level and ability of subway inspection.
