News from the rail transit exhibition Belarus news that the first custom-designed Minsk 2024 metro train was delivered from the TMH Metrowagonmash plant in Russia to the capital of Belarus at the end of July.
In March 2023, seven groups of four-car series 81-765.7/766.7 trains were ordered for the Zelenoluzh line.
TMH Engineering developed the Minsk 2024 design according to the customer's specifications and adopted components produced by Belarus companies.
In order to accommodate the station screen door system, the length of the train cars has been specially adjusted, with the middle cars being 140 mm shorter than the conventional cars and the two end cars being 70 mm shorter.
The new trains are equipped with 1,400 mm wide anti-pinch sliding plug doors and 1,500 mm wide carriage connection tunnels to improve passenger mobility and capacity. The rear car has 41 wearable seats and barrier-free areas, while the middle car has 44 seats. Other features include non-slip handrails, USB charging ports, CCTV surveillance system, air-conditioning system with air disinfection, adaptive lighting, passenger information system, and fire detection and extinguishing system.
It is worth mentioning that the design team paid special attention to the ergonomic needs of the driver, redesigning the console. An emergency evacuation ramp is also installed at the front of the car in case of emergency.
All carriages are powered and can reach a top speed of 90 km/h. The expected service life is 30 years.
