What does the airport liaison locomotive look like? Take you to experience the late-night "roaming"

Recently, Shanghai citizens noticed that a special convoy was passing through the night. The convoy was loaded with the much-talked-about Airport Liaison Line trains, which were conducting a "night roaming" from the Zhanghuabang Port Area to the temporary maintenance base of the Hongqiao Airport Liaison Line.

In the early morning of August 4, two new trains JC4006 and 4009 of the airport liaison line were connected and sent back through the railway to enter Shanghai through the Beijing-Shanghai downlink line. After the train finally arrived at Nanxiang I, it was shunted to Nanxiang V, and then it was towed to Hejiawan Station by the DF4B-9354 small locomotive of Nanhe Line in the morning of the same day.

After arriving at Hejiawan Station, the train was immediately transferred from Hejiawan Station to Zhanghuabang Foreign Trade Port Area through a special line, and was ready to use the port site for hoisting and transportation by road.

After two days of parking in the port area and decompiling, the train was finally hoisted on August 6, and after being hoisted onto the truck, the convoy began to depart at around 23:30-0:30 on the same night, and went to the temporary maintenance base of the airport liaison line in Hongqiao through the Outer Ring Expressway. It is worth mentioning that an interesting scene appeared during this transportation. Due to the small space in the Zhanghuabang port area and the limited turning radius, all trucks loaded with airport link carriages need to reverse out of the gate of the port area after turning. Subsequently, the staff also had to manually close the road at the intersection in front of the port area, so that the truck could reverse to the center of the intersection and then turn left to get on the elevated road.

This complex process not only demonstrates the skill of the transportation team, but also highlights the challenges of large-scale engineering projects in an urban environment. Despite the tedious process, each step is carefully calculated and coordinated to ensure that the train reaches its destination safely.

The construction of the airport link line has attracted much attention from the public, and this transfer of the train marks another step forward for the project. As the train arrives at the temporary maintenance base, the next phase of commissioning will begin.
