On June 12, CRRC Tangshan Company held the completion and launch ceremony of the country's first 160 km/h power centralized EMU D5 at the site of Lunan Branch (Equipment Service Division), the origin of China's rail transit industry with a long history of 143 years.
The 160 km/h power centralized EMU is jointly designed and developed by CRRC Tangshan Company leading a number of engine and bus host enterprises, as well as relevant scientific research institutions such as the Academy of Railway Sciences, and the model is CR200J. As one of the "Fuxing" series brands, this type of EMU includes first-class cars, second-class cars, second-class cars/dining cars and other carriage types, in addition to the use of fixed seats, basically consistent with the "Fuxing" high-speed EMU, providing passengers with a comfortable riding environment, greatly improving the operation quality of the general-speed railway, and improving the passengers' sense of happiness and gain.
D5 repair is an advanced overhaul of EMU trains, which usually needs to be returned to the factory for completion. During the overhaul process, the whole car needs to be disassembled, the parts and components should be updated on a large scale, and the EMU can be upgraded and transformed as needed. The first 160 km/h Fuxing power centralized EMU with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour completed the D5 repair, numbered CR200J3-A-1002, was newly manufactured and shipped by CRRC Tangshan Company on January 20, 2019, and belonged to the Lanzhou depot of China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd., which has been running for 1.8 million kilometers so far. This is the first time that this type of EMU has returned to the factory to complete the advanced repair work in the country, marking that CRRC Tangshan Company has mastered all the maintenance technologies of this type of EMU and laid the foundation for undertaking batch maintenance business.
