Rail Transit ExhibitionNews June 3, 2024 Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has successfully acquired its location in Sricity (Andhra Pradesh) delivered the first Metropolis metro train to Pune Metro Line 3. Running at a speed of 85 km/h, these 100% Made in India trains connect Hinjewadi's IT hub with the central business district of Shivajinagar, Maharashtra's second-largest city.

Pune Metro Line 3 is an elevated metro project of about 23 km long that connects the IT hub of Singawadi with the central business district of Shivaji Nagar. The project is jointly undertaken by Tata Group and PMRDA under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The Tata Group was formedPune IT City Metro Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), was responsible for the construction of the 23-station metro corridor.

In 2021, Alstom India,TRIL A joint venture between City Transport Sdn Bhd (a Tata Group company) and Siemens Project Ventures Limited (a subsidiary of Siemens Financial Services) has been awarded a contract by the Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PUD) under the Public-Private Partnership Routes (PPP) to provide rolling stock, electrical and mechanical systems engineering for the elevated MRT line. The project will be developed and operated on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Handover (DBFOT) basis.

As part of the contract, Alstom will build 22 metropolitan trains, each consisting of three cars, each with a capacity of 1,000 passengers.
