A new record for medium and low-speed maglev speed: the built-in maglev train ran 180km/h

On the evening of April 20, 2024, on the embedded medium and low-speed maglev comprehensive test line of Chengdu Xinjin Puxing Industrial Park, the three-group embedded medium and low-speed maglev train of Sichuan Development Maglev Technology Co., Ltd. completed the 180km/h speed test. After testing and witnessing by a third-party qualification testing unit, the maximum speed of the train reached 181km/h, which once again refreshed the speed record of 169km/h in the field of medium and low-speed maglev transportation previously created by the maglev train.

The 180km/h speed test of the embedded medium and low-speed maglev train was successful, once again setting a new world record for speed in the field of medium and low-speed maglev transportation. This also marks a higher level of performance and technology of embedded maglev products, which can cover a wider range of rail transit application scenarios and meet the needs of higher speed levels.

It is understood that the localized embedded medium and low-speed maglev transportation system is dominated by Sichuan maglev, based on German maglev system technology, in cooperation with Southwest Jiaotong University, Tongji University and other universities, relying on China's perfect maglev transportation industry chain to develop. The localized embedded medium and low-speed maglev transportation system mainly includes localized track beams, turnouts, vehicles and other subsystems, and the localization rate has reached more than 93%.
