Sign the contract! China's first export of commuter electric vehicles to Indonesia

On January 31st, CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC, signed a supply contract for commuter electric vehicles with Indonesia Commuter Train Company in Beijing. This is another breakthrough for CRRC in the Indonesian market after the Yawan high-speed train project, and also the first time China has exported commuter electric vehicles to Indonesia. China's high-end equipment has once again won "repeat customers" when going abroad. The signing ceremony was held at CRRC headquarters, and CRRC Chairman Sun Yongcai met with a delegation including Assistant Minister of Public Procurement Sidia of Indonesia, Assistant Minister of State owned Enterprises Dyst, Chairman of National Railways Indonesia Didik, and Chairman of Commuter Trains Indonesia Asdo.

Before the signing ceremony, the leaders of both sides had a discussion. Sun Yongcai welcomes the arrival of the Indonesian team. He stated that in recent years, CRRC and Indonesia have established a good cooperative relationship. Ya'an Wanzhou high-speed railway trains continue to operate safely and reliably, which is known as the "golden signboard" of China Indonesia cooperation in building the "the Belt and Road", and is favored by the Indonesian people. The signing of the commuter EMU project contract will further play a positive role in promoting China Indonesia practical cooperation and high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". CRRC is willing to provide more support and services in Indonesia's rail transit construction and energy transformation process, to help Indonesia's economic and social development.

The Indonesian side highly appreciates the development achievements of CRRC in recent years, and thanks CRRC for providing support to Indonesia on the Yawan high-speed railway project. Didik stated that the commuting electric vehicle unit project has opened a new chapter of cooperation between the two sides, and he looks forward to more digital, intelligent, and green products from CRRC making stunning appearances in Indonesia.

Under the joint witness of Sun Yongcai and Didiq, Tian Xuehua, the Chairman of CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd., and Asdo respectively signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

According to the contract, CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. will provide three new electric train units for the Indonesian Commuter Train Company's commuter line. The new train will be built using advanced technology, with a maximum operating speed of 120 kilometers per hour, a 12 car formation per train, a maximum passenger capacity of 3396 people, and a stainless steel body that adapts to the local 1067 millimeter gauge. The carriage will be equipped with new service facilities such as LED dynamic electronic maps and passenger information displays, and a simple operation console will be added in the middle of the train to improve the convenience of train maintenance and repair. The new train is expected to be delivered in 2025. After being put into use, it will bring Indonesian passengers a higher quality commuting experience.

Indonesia Commuter Train Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indonesian National Railway Company, operating local commuter railways in Indonesia, covering areas such as Jakarta, Bogor, Debok, Tanglang, and Bukasi, serving millions of Indonesian passengers every day.
