Previously, the project faced a delay in announcing the results of the tender, the reason for which was postponed due to technical problems, etc., the authorities explained that additional time was needed to review the documents and fix the errors, and there were reports that the Basi company was also trying to block the Chinese manufacturer, claiming ChinaLack of production facilities in Brazil. This successful bid is not only a recognition of China's rail transit equipment manufacturing capabilities, but also a reaffirmation that "Made in China" is winning more and more trust in the global market.

A total of two bidders submitted bids in this bidding, namely:

Offer 1: CRRC - R$3.104 billion (initial offer R$3.617 billion)

Offer 2: Alstom – R$3.121 billion (R$3.740 billion originally proposed)

According to the terms of the contract, the six-car train must reach speeds of 100 km/h and carry at least 1,800 passengers, including 232 seats. The first train is scheduled to be delivered 21 months after signing, while the entire order must be completed within 5 years. The project is funded by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), which ensures financial stability. The authorities hope that modern metro trains will improve the quality of service and expand urban transportation.

Forty-four new six-train trains will be used for Metro Line 2 Green Line Extension, Metro Line 1 Blue Line and Metro Line 3 Red Line. The budget is R$3.605 billion (about $700 million), which will be financed jointly by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the state government.

At present, the São Paulo Metro Company is reviewing the relevant qualification documents of CRRC, including financial status, legal compliance and other aspects. Once approved, both parties will formally sign the contract.
