MTR will recruit globally for a successor to the Chief Executive Officer

MTR announced on the 8th that CEO Kim Chakpei's current term will expire on March 31 next year, and he will be reappointed as CEO for a new term from April 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. The MTR Board of Directors is grateful to Mr. Kim for agreeing to re-elect his new term and will launch a global recruitment campaign to find a suitable successor.

The Chairman of MTRCL, Mr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, said that Mr Kim had led the company through a number of important milestones in the construction of Hong Kong and the promotion of urban development. In addition to providing world-class services to Hong Kong's railway network, the company has also launched cross-harbour sections of the Tuen Ma Line and East Rail Line, which will greatly enhance Hong Kong's connectivity and enhance the travel experience of passengers. The launch of the new railway project will help strengthen Hong Kong's strategic positioning.

Mr Kim expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Board for their trust and all colleagues of the MTR for their continued support. He and his team will continue to work side by side to drive the city forward.

Mr. Kam has served the MTR Corporation for 29 years and has been the Chief Executive Officer of the MTR Corporation since 1 April 2019.
