On September 24, Beijing China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Co., Ltd. was formally established, with a registered capital of 200 million yuan. The Company's business scope covers construction engineering, public railway transportation, construction engineering survey, construction project supervision, construction engineering design, state-owned trade management, import and export of goods, and railway transportation auxiliary activities.

Beijing China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Co., Ltd. is wholly owned by China Railway International Co., Ltd. This move marks a further advance of the strategic project of connectivity between China and the Central Asian region. In June this year, the signing ceremony of the tri-government agreement on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was held in Beijing, and Zheng Shajie, director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is a strategic project for the interconnection between China and Central Asia, and a landmark project for the trilateral cooperation in building the "Belt and Road".
